Singer Songwriter Workshop

Summary

Learn all about how to write your own original songs in this workshop with vocalist and composer Sivan Arbel!

Participants will learn about all topics relating to songwriting such as how to start a new song, writing lyrics, creative tools for composing and arranging, and more! It is recommended that all participants bring in an original song, whether it is a work in progress or a completed song to share with other participants and receive constructive feedback. Participants will leave this workshop with their own original song to share!

Sivan Arbel is vocalist, composer, and educator who has performed all around the world at Lincoln Center in New York City, the Minsk Jazz Festival in Belarus, Bratislava Jazz Days Festival in Slovakia, Boston Jazz Festival, and 4020 Festival in Austria, to name a few. Arbel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance from the Newpark Music Centre in Dublin and is a graduate of the Jazz Performance program at the Rimon School of Music in Israel.

She has collaborated with musicians around the world such as the Japanese band Ichimujin, Brazilian Pandeiro player Túlio Araújo, and Groove it Forward Project pianist Guy Mintus. Arbel has also released two albums: Broken Lines in 2016 and Change of Light in 2019, which was selected as the Best Vocal Disc of 2019 by Jazz2K.
